Shaun Heaton

My Father taught me a love of the outdoors as early as 5 years old when he would take me along deer hunting.    Although he wasn’t a fisherman, I would value my time learning how to pitch a tent, start fires, and enjoy the beauty of the wilderness.   Because of that love, I was able help youth serving about 30 years in scouting to teach these same outdoor skills and more.   Love of fishing came from my Brother-in-law, Victor Brooksby, who was a firefighter but was taken from us early.   Later on I enjoyed fishing with my Dad and Brothers Lyle, Dale, and Gary  and Paul Allen, a friend and cousin.   Fly fishing came later from my friend Tim Larsen.  We have spent many days on the water together.    My First trip to Alaska was about 16 years ago when we took the entire family of 9 and I completely became drenched and drunk to the Alaskan Air.    My good friend, Tim Izatt introduced me to Kodiak and again was drawn to its earthiness.   I have not only guided fishing trips, but waterfowl as well in Alaska.    Adding my love of videography and video editing has been a plus for me and my groups.   Creating a lasting memory through film has brought myself and others great joys and lasting friendships.

“My husband's passion for Alaska and his knowledge of Kodiak fishing always amazes me.”

Randy Browning

Hi Everyone, my name is Randy Browning. I live in Manila, Utah with my wife, Tiffany, and our 3 kids. I am a Coast Guard licensed captain and currently own, and operate Flaming Gorge Charters. I am an avid out‐ doorsman at heart, and enjoy all outdoor activities, but fishing definitely occupies the largest spot in my heart.

I have been assisting groups in Kodiak now for 4 years and I’m excited to take the next step to become a full time guide along side Shaun Heaton. Since first coming to Kodiak, I have absolutely fell in love with it. The beauty is unmatched and the fishing is unbelievable! I can’t wait to spend time with all of you exploring the “Emerald Island” in Kodiak, Alaska!
